OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A local teenager is following her dreams of becoming a singer.

Over the weekend, she has had a production crew, her band and even some friends helping with a music video shoot to her first single.

It’s always been a dream for 15-year-old Hannah Vandie.

Inspired by music artists such as Carrie Underwood and Katy Perry, she is now making her dreams a reality by filming her first music video.

“It’s so much fun and my favorite part, I would have to say, is being on the horse,” said Vandie.

Her first self written song, titled “Dark Horses,” has a country feel with a special message.

“You’re unique and that’s okay is basically what it’s saying. You should do your own way and do what you want,” said Vandie.

As part of the “Dark Horses” video shoot, Hannah has some help from a few close friends.

“It’s awesome, I feel like I’m really helping Hannah. I feel like I’m doing something for myself. I love music and everything about the entertainment industry, so it’s a learning experience for me too,” said Georgia Sisson, a close friend.

“It’s pretty cool cause I’ve never been in an actual music video and to know that she’s one of my friends from school is kind of awesome,” said Danielle Collins, a close friend.

Nashville based TV producer, Mike Jennings, has been working with Hannah on the video shoot and he sees a bright future for the teenager.

“Her singing is good. Obviously she’s learning so she’s got awhile to go but if she stays at it, she will be right in there with t he big boys when its all said and done and I think she has the determination to do it,” said Jennings.

Next month, Hannah will be featured on Jennings’s Nashville Spotlight show. Her single will also be for sale on iTunes.
