VIDEO: Main Street Columbus Kicks Off Christmas Open House

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- It may be too hot outside to roast chestnuts on an open fire, but that isn’t stopping downtown Columbus from looking a lot like Christmas.

Downtown’s annual Christmas Open House kicked off Friday morning and runs all weekend.

22 businesses are decking the halls with specials, prizes and promotions to kick off the holiday shopping season.

One new shop’s grand opening was Friday, just in time for the most wonderful time of year.

“From the beginning when we got the place in October, we said we’d be open by Christmas Open House, because that would be big for us. It was our grand opening and second of all it’s a great time for people to come out and shop,” said Mira Mira Co-owner Tami McBryde.

Christmas Open House continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from  1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at select stores.
