Video: Ministry Collects Used Sports Equipment For Mission Project

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – A ministry that focuses on coaches and athletics is collecting slightly used equipment that will be given to kids in the United States and around the world.

The non profit is called “Bigger Than Ball” and was formed by Will Lowrey, head baseball coach at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School.

The ministry encourages coaches to use their influence to make a positive impact on their students, focusing on more than just wins and losses.

Through Friday,  ministry leaders are collecting sporting goods that will be given to teams that can’t afford the equipment.

“During a time of giving we can all go in our closets, we all have used sporting goods, there are a lot of programs, even, programs out there that sell sporting goods that give us new equipment, we’re trying to support other programs that might not have enough,” said TCPS Coach Lowrey.

“We can win a thousand games, but if we don’t help our young men become young men, what did we really do, so that’s where the Bigger than Ball Foundation is coming in,” said TCPS Coach Shaune Holiday.

The coaches will pick up your used sporting equipment.  For more information, go to biggerthanball.com
