VIDEO: Mississippi Archaeology Month

OXFORD, Miss.(WCBI) – An Archaeology open house was on hand taking place in Lamar Hall at the Archaeology lab on the Ole Miss Campus on Saturday.

The month of October is Mississippi Archaeology month where all of the over the state Archaeology centers have been hosting events to show what Mississippi Archaeology is all about.

Organizer Riley Anderson says that there are numerous artifacts in the region.

“In this entire region there are hundreds and hundreds i’d say because just in our region we have things from this area kind of and we have the thirteen hundred boxes, and in the region there is multiple schools, there is centers, and more than really any can compute I’d say,”said Anderson.

Anderson also says that in their artifacts collection they have over 1300 artifacts that were show on display on Saturday during open house.
