KILMICHAEL, Miss.(WCBI)–Legislative Budget hearings in Jackson are causing a great deal of consternation among lawmakers.

But Governor Bryant who has been involved with state budgets for many years now, is reminding everyone at this point It is a guess of what the revenue will look like.

“Its an estimation of what each agency will like to have. So its just the beginning of the process. It will really begin in January. We will know a little bit more about revenue. It is coming in as we had hoped, and of course there is much more demands than there ever will be money in state government,” said Governor Phil Bryant/(R) Mississippi.

Much of the uncertainty has to do with Prop 42. If it passes the legislature will be required to fully fund the education budget under the M-A-E-P formula.
