JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Almost one in four Mississippi drivers is likely driving without car insurance. The Insurance Research Council says overall, the percentage of uninsured motorists is declining nationwide but the amount of money paid out in claims for accidents involving those drivers is climbing. Mississippi ranks third highest with 23% uninsured.

Alabama is not far behind at 21%.
