OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — One week after the Starkville Oktibbeha schools’ superintendent’s arrest, his neighbor is behind bars.

51-year-old Roy Couvion was charged with simple assault Monday morning, following an alleged incident between him and Superintendent Dr. Lewis Holloway back on May 3.

Sheriff Steve Gladney tells WCBI Couvion’s arrest comes after Holloway signed an affidavit August 12, accusing Couvion of hitting him in the jaw, and pushing him down near Holloway’s home on Mt. Olive Road.

Sheriff Gladney says Couvion was released on $500 bond a short time after he turned himself in.

Dr. Holloway was also arrested for simple assault earlier this month, after an alleged argument between him and Couvion.

Both men will face a judge September 15.
