TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Fifteen days from now,  area celebrities will put on their dancing shoes as part of a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Mississippi.

Our own Allie Martin is taking part and this evening,  a popular local restaurant is helping him raise money for the great cause.

Thank you we are here at the Neon Pig Cafe on North Gloster Street,  we have two stories tonight in one, first,  a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club, it’s part of Dance Like the Stars and also the Neon Pig’s Smashburger is in the running for best burger in the country.  Lots of stuff going on, joining us now to talk more about it Mitch McCamey,  first up, the fundraiser, this is for “Dance Like the Stars” the Boys and Girls Club, I’m dancing August 22nd but it’s about the kids, tell us why it’s important for folks to come out.

“Anytime you get a chance to give back, we think that’s really important,  we are a community restaurant, we have a community butcher shop that uses local farms, we try and support everyone who supports us, you’ve always been a big supporter so it just makes sense,” McCamey said.

We know we have the elections going on,  everybody is running for this and that, but this a big election, the best burger in the country,  you are in the running, in the top two.

“That’s right, we are in the top two, it started off the best burger in every state, they put it in a bracket system and we have made it all the way down , it’s us against San Francisco for the best burger in America,  so show your support.  If we do win, we are going to throw a huge bash,  and all money raised we are going to give it away to charity,” McCamey said.

So come out to the Neon Pig tonight, Crye Leike Plaza,  enjoy a great meal, help the boys and girls club, enter a contest to win a workout with me and go to thrilllist dot com, vote for the smashburger,  for now we are in tupelo we will send it back to you in the studio.
