Video: A New Fire Fighting Training Tool

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – The West Point Fire Department receives help from an area power cooperative to teach others how to fight fires.

A nearly $7,000 dollar grant from the 4 County Foundation allowed the department to purchase a training system for fire extinguisher use.

The new system will help firefighters help the community.

“A lot of places are requiring fire extinguisher training now. Nursing homes, schools, and places like that, so we get a lot of requests for it, and this system is cheap to operate, and it’s environmentally nicer than the old system use to be, and it’s safer too,” says West Point Fire Department Inspector, Ted Judson.

Firefighters are making quick use of the new system, as they begin training this week.
