STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A proposed North Mississippi partnership school is closer to becoming a reality.
Several state representatives from our area are pushing for the partnership middle school between Mississippi State University, and the Starkville-Oktibbeha School District.
It’s for sixth and seventh graders, and would be on or near the MSU campus.
Local lawmakers say this proposed model school would set a great example for the rest of the state.
“They can put together something of that nature, to have it as not only a model middle school, but it would be a demonstration school so that the teachers that we’re educating would be able to observe how to manage the classroom,” said Rep. Tyrone Ellis, (D) District 38.
Some local lawmakers tell WCBI they’re confident this bill will pass.
