Video: Noxubee County Woman Shares Her Secret To Becoming 100

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-Family and Friends gather at the Wingate Hotel in Columbus to celebrate Mrs. Callie Brooks 100th Birthday.

The Noxubee County native has gone through many obstacles throughout her life, but making sure her nine children received a good education was one of her main concerns.

Brooks says the one thing she always told her children is also her secret to living a long and healthy life.

“Be true and keep your hand in The Lord. Talk to The Lord because he’s everything. Sometimes the way seems hard, but when you talk with The Lord he will make everything alright,” says Callie Brooks.

Another rare fact about Mrs. Brooks: She and her husband were married for 74 years.
