Video: Ole Miss fans not letting former coaches resignation ruin tailgate season

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI)- An off season filled with distractions such as the looming NCAA investigation and the sudden resignation of Former head coach Hugh Freeze after his university phone was linked to escort services is now done.

The Ole Miss faithful can now do what they do best and that’s tailgate. The Grove is once again open for the business of making both friend and foe feel welcome.

The tailgaters say Saturday goes a long way towards making life as an Ole Miss fan normal again.

“Regardless from all this turmoil that’s been going on, we may or may not make to a bowl, but I know we are suspended from a bowl game. The environment here is one of the best environments out of all college football. It’s a great place to be. Everybody is down for this sport and we’re all big supporters for Ole Miss. Hotty Toddy football baby. We’re going to win this game,” said Tyler Roberts.

“Being back in the Grove is the place to I want to be. Hugh Freeze was a good coach. He had some stuff wrong with him, but Matt Luke I believe is going to be able to do it for us. Being back in the Grove is really just a tradition for my family and everyone else. I just love being in the grove,” said Blake Parmer.

Ole Miss fans have longed claimed the school is the SEC best tailgate. The most recent Southern Living magazine ranking puts Ole Miss on top of its annual survey.
