TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)-Every year, churches, individuals and community groups across the country pack shoe boxes with everything from school supplies and clothing basics for Operation Christmas Child. The boxes are distributed worldwide to needy children. Last month, organizers packed the 100 millionth box during a special event in Tupelo. This week, a young missionary delivered that special box to a child in the Dominican Republic. The box contained a jump rope, school supplies and other goodies, including a fancy pair of sunglasses. It also had a special letter from the people of Tupelo, wishing the child the joys of Christmas and giving.
