Video: Rally Held for Officer-Involved Shooting Victim

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Hundreds fill a Tupelo church for a rally seeking answers and calling for peace in the wake of an officer-involved shooting.

Pastors from across the area spoke at the rally billed as “Justice For Ronnie.”

Passionate speeches focused on questions from many surrounding the June 18 incident, while imploring the community to be civil as an investigation continues by the MBI.

“It’s been a little heated, and I think in any situation when there’s misunderstanding and you don’t know the truth about a thing, people are going to get angry, but what happens is when you get this one telling you something, that one telling you something, and then you get the process sometimes wrong information, and sometimes processing wrong information, you end up doing some wrong things,” said Bishop Clarence Parks, Tupelo’s Temple of Compassion and Deliverance.

Parks expects similar events through the summer, until results of the MBI investigation are released.
