COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The search for Columbus schools’ next leader is making progress. Consultant with Ray and Associates, the firm hired by the Columbus Municipal School District to aid in the superintendent search, hosted three meetings Monday, and will host three more on Tuesday. At Monday’s meeting they handed out surveys and a timeline for the search, and asked for feedback on the school district and community. Some teachers tell us they think the interim superintendent is doing a great job, but they are ready for someone permanent.

“I’m pretty sure that I can speak for a lot of other teachers, that we’re all ready to get someone who’s ready to work, and help us do better for the students in Columbus,” said Tina Morgan, a music teacher in the Columbus School District.

Columbus Municipal School District and Ray and Associates are looking for citizen and stakeholder input. There is a survey and schedule of meetings available at the District’s website. They will be taking input until 8AM Wednesday May 14th.
