VIDEO: The Search For A Missing Webster County Man Comes To An End

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss.(WCBI)—The search is finally over for a man, many say is a pillar in Webster County.

Mr. Walter Kelly Land was found 20 miles away from his home today.

A County Supervisor discovered his truck just over an embankment.

Land’s neighbor, Billy Smith, has been right along side law enforcement working for his neighbors safe return.

The Webster County Sheriff’s department investigator Landon Griffin says after hearing about Walter Kelly Land’s disappearance several other people jumped to get involved with the search.

“Today we have a lot of agencies here. MBI is here, they’ve taken a pretty big step forward in the search helping us out. We’ve got search and rescue from our county here. Just getting boots on the ground to search the area. It’s a pretty intense search right now,”said  Griffin.

Land lived alone, in a house, in the country and is a creature of habit. Officers say that made finding him a little tougher.

” We have no idea where he was headed he has a usual routine of going to a local restaurant and drinking coffee,”said Griffin.

“He went to Trace Way everyday for breakfast,”said Land’s neighbor Billy Smith.

Even with several agencies helping in the search everyone agrees, all the effort paid off with Land’ s safe return home.

” We been riding ever since 9:00. We rode all these roads that we know, we use to deer hunt. So we road roads that we thought he might be stranded on,” said Smith.

Mr. Land was found on Industrial Park Road around 4:15 Wednesday afternoon.
