VIDEO: Shackelford Speaking To Inspire

FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) — Former Ole Miss Rebels linebacker D.T. Shackelford visited Itawamba Community College to speak to a big crowd Wednesday night.

Shackelford had two red shirt injury years because of a torn right ACL knee ligament during spring practice in 2011.

The former Rebels also became the first ever two-time recipient of the Chucky Mullins Courage Award.

Now, Shackelford spends his time speaking to inspire and motivate others, as well as pursue a doctorate degree.

“I’m only as good as my support system, and so many people have helped me, and so I feel like it’s my duty”, Shackelford said.

“I feel like it’s almost something I have to do to give back. It’s something I love to do. I love uplifting, and I go around all the time going to speak to younger kids and colleges…it’s really a blessing.”
