Video: Shannon High FFA Students Give Back

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Shannon High Future Farmers of America students give back to the community today.

The day kicked off at the Lee County Humane Society, where they donated peanut butter and newspapers.

Students toured the facility to learn more about the humane society.

The next stop brought them to Native Sons Organic Farmland. The group helped the owners pick strawberries.

A family illness has slowed operations on the farm and they need a helping hand.

Educators believe the project gives students a new perspective of farming by seeing the finished product.
