VIDEO: Shooting Death Investigation Continues in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – There are new details on the Sunday morning shooting in Aberdeen.

Police arrived to the scene to find 17 year-old, LaQuinton Walker, dead.

No comment was made by police on the day of the murder, but they agreed to make a statement the following day.

Police are hoping that they can have answers to this shooting soon.

“We got a call early morning, 6:30-7 o’clock, that a body had been found outside of Lowndes Street there. Once I arrived there, we notified a couple of people about what was going on and asked them to come in as well as we started our investigation,” said Randle.

The investigation gains some momentum as Police try to find the killer of 17 year-old, LaQuinton Walker.

“We pretty much detained two juveniles for questioning. At that time, they were the last seen with the victim,” said Randle.

And because of a tip, those two are not the last.

“We picked another lead last night, and we’re going to entertain it today, see where it leads us to. Hopefully turns out to be credible information, and if so we’ll try to wrap things up sooner than we expected,” said Randle.

Rumors spread as to why Walker was shot in the first place.

Randle and his team disregard the stories and hope to find the right reason.

“Hopefully that we can get to the bottom of it and as to why. As of right now, we’ve heard so much stuff, and we’re kind of having to decipher which is the truth and which is not. We’re looking for some concrete evidence to help us out along with what we already have,” said Randle.

Walker’s body has been sent to Pearl for an autopsy.

Randle encourages anyone with credible information to call the Aberdeen Police Department at (662) 369-6454.
