VIDEO: Showing Appreciation For Those Who Fought For Our Freedoms

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The students of West Lowndes Elementary School rolled out the red carpet for Veterans Day.

The kindergarten through 5th graders extended an invitation to veterans through out the area.

The heroes in attendance represented several branches of service including; The Army, Navy, Air Force Marines and Coast Guard.

The early morning program featured our very own Reporter R.H. Brown.

Mary Staples says it’s important for people of all ages to understand the great sacrifice the veterans made for our freedom.

“We are educators, therefore we want to educate our children about how important it is for those men and women to go and fight for our life and our rights,”said West Lowndes Elementary School Secretary  Mary Staples.

There were more than three dozen veterans in attendance.
