Video: A Small Town Prepping For A Big Event

STURGIS, Miss. (WCBI) – For almost two decades, motorcycles have roared into Sturgis each August for the annual bike rally.

Sturgis has around 250 residents, and when the rally rolls by, so do thousands of people.

Mayor Turner says they are getting ready for the event and look forward to it every year.

“It’s a huge event for a small town, and I would encourage any small town that has an event, to work with them and stay with them, and keep it going. A lot of small towns just, you know, have a problem with that, and we’ve been very fortunate to have the rally, and we support it one hundred percent,” says Mayor Turner.

Mayor Turner also says the event is a huge deal to surrounding areas because the rally guests fill up hotels and campgrounds.

The 2016 Sturgis Bike Rally will be August 19th-21st.
