STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI) – If you saw the police outside the Starkville Wal-Mart it’s not because “Black Friday” shopping got out of hand.
The Starkville Police Department partnered with the Salvation Army to do the first round of ringing the bell.
Mississippi State Head football coach Dan Mullen could also be seen with a bell in his hand.
The officers spent a few hours greeting the community as they made their “Black Friday” purchases.
SPD Officer Tom Roberson, says this is the a good way to give back to the community they serve.
“This is just an absolutely great time for us to be out here and us being in a positive role , and people feel comfortable coming up talking with us and that sort of thing,” said Roberson.
The Starkville Police Department partner every year with the Salvation Army.
