Video: Starkville Aldermen Tackle Full Agenda

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -The last meeting of the current Starkville Mayor and Board of Aldermen was no lame duck session.

The board tackled a number of issues. Aldermen heard public comments on a proposed Comprehensive Plan that would guide development in the city for years to come.

Several citizens voiced concerns over cost, particularly along the Highway 82 corridor. But the plan passed on a 4 to 3 vote.

The board also voted to extend the moratorium on Billboards in the city. Members want to study the issue, and make a few tweaks before settling on a final plan.

A motion to modify an ordinance on sidewalks died on a 4 to 3 vote.

And aldermen also approved the site plan for the Starkville Police Department.
