STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-In Starkville colors were posted and a ceremony in front of city hall was taken inside to a courtroom for a swearing-in celebration. Like passengers on a voyage at sea, Mayor Parker Wiseman and his seven board of aldermen are moving the city into uncharted waters. The re elected two term mayor is hoping during his second term to secure an even better quality of life for residents there. A mass transit system about to go on line in the fall and improved infrastructure are already key to activities going on during his next four years in office.

“A fifty million dollar plus hotel conference center development that will be one of the finest conference centers in the state of Mississippi. We expect ground to be broken on that this fall as well. This is indeed a golden era for the city of Starkville,” said Parker Wiseman, Starkville Mayor.

An inaugural gala is set for 7:00 P.M  tonight at the Hotel Chester.
