STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI)–First graders at Sudduth Elementary School in Starkville have been learning all about the presidents of the United States.

In celebration of Presidents Day homeroom teacher Isabel McLemore read to the children a book about our 16th president.

They seem fascinated about the style of his hat.

“We did a flat stanley project earlier this year and we got a letter from President Obama just talking about the importance of school and how his day is hard work just like our school is hard work. And so they have been very interested in Barack Obama just because they have had that correspondence with him,” said Isabel McLemore/Sudduth Elementary School Teacher.

While studying about money, the children readily identified Lincoln by seeing him on the penny.
