TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Students at a private school in our area have helped a ten year old girl’s wish come true.   As WCBI’s Allie Martin reports,  this afternoon, a Pontotoc girl, who has been battling lupus all her life, was guest of honor at a Princess Tea Party where she got the gift of a lifetime.

The gymnasium at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School was decorated for a tea party Thursday afternoon.

Ten year old Angel Lee was the special guest for the Princess Tea Party, where gems and sweet treats were being made.

“I got cupcake stuff all over my mouth,” Angel said.

Like most fourth graders, Angel likes all things Disney and there were a few well known characters there to celebrate.

After a few songs, Angel was told she and her family would soon be leaving for a dream vacation.

Angel’s parents say the trip means the world to their daughter.

“She has always wanted to go , she’s always been, had a thing about Disneyworld and Disney movies,” said Robert Lee.

This marks the third year in a row TCPS students have collected money for Make A Wish. This time, their money is helping this North Pontotoc “princess”.

“They care about this community, they care about these deserving kids who are going through a really difficult time and deserve this magical moment,” said Rebecca Sudduth, of Make A Wish Midsouth.

Hannah Henry is a senior who began the initiative two years ago.

“It’s a blessing that God gives us this privilege to be able to reach out to our community and reach out to those less fortunate than us sometimes and kids that don’t get to live like we do every single day,” Henry said.

Angel says she didn’t know her wish would be granted, but she’s ready to go, along with her family.

Do you have a favorite ride you want to ride at Disneyworld?

“The log ride,” Angel said.

And your brother is going right?

“Yes,” she said.

Is that good or bad?

“Bad for me,” Angel said.

Why?

“Because he’s always going to be wild,” she said.

Angel, along with her little brother Paeytyon also got presents for their family vacation.

Angel and her family leave June 27th and will return July 5th.
