STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — A Starkville developer is making sure there is another option when it comes to upscale housing for seniors.

Just off South Montgomery Street in an upscale section of town, dirt is moving and buildings are going up for the latest by way of assisted living experience. With design in hand, Starkville Entrepreneur Sandy Ramsey informs Kiwanis Club Members Tuesday of whats to come. A long awaited for dream of his being called… The Claiborne At Adelaide.

“That’s a very very special component. Adelaide is my mother and that will be a neighborhood that will occupy the other 400 plus acres, But only about 200 of it will be developed into housing,” said Sandy Ramsey/Starkville Developer.

The rest of the property design calls for trails and a natural setting of tranquility, well in immediate view by seniors retiring in the village, and motorists passing by.

“There will be a pond that you can see from the road. Landscaping will be very nice. It will be a very comfortable setting which we feel is an integral part of the development,” said Sandy Ramsey.

There is some tax revenue to come from this project. This new addition to the city boasts of being a one-of-a-kind unique living experience… not just another piece of real estate.

“There will be seven cottages for independent living and then there will be more higher level of care before the memory care,” said Ramsey.

When completed the site at the corner of Wedgewood Road and South Montgomery is expected to be the ultimate in retirement living.

The Clairborne At Adelaide is expected to be finished sometime in September of this year.
