Video: ‘Tis The Season

NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) –Thanksgiving and Black Friday are behind us ; now,  the Christmas Parade Season officially begins.

Residents in Nettleton packed downtown to enjoy the sights and sounds of this year’s Christmas Parade.

Eye-catching floats and candy were a couple of the highlights.

The high school marching band played music for all to enjoy, and, of course, there was a Saint Nick sighting.

It was a tribute to the music of the Season in Starkville Monday night.

The theme of this year’s parade was “A Caroling Christmas”, and it was dedicated to the memory of John Robert Arnold, who for many years led parade crowds in Christmas carols.

Floats from several area businesses and organizations were joined by the Famous Maroon Band and MSU Cheerleaders..

And Columbus was feeling the Christmas Spirit too.

Dozens gathered at the Riverwalk Monday for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting.

Christmas carols could be heard all around right before the big show at 6:15 when the city officially kicked off the season.
