VIDEO: The Town Of Sturgis Gears Up For Its Annual Bike Rally

STURGIS, Miss. (WCBI)-In less than a month, hundreds of bikes will roar into Sturgis for the 18th annual Bike Rally.

The big event is set to take place on August 18-20th.

Residents and city leaders are excited about the rally and have already started making preparations.

This is the biggest event of the year for Sturgis and generates big bucks for the small town.

To help events run smoothing, city leaders are asking  everyone who comes out to register on time and purchase arm bands for the event.

“This rally is actually funded by arm bands sells, that’s the only place money comes from,” said Sturgis Mayor Billy Blankenship. “As this rally grew larger in the past, it’s due to the amount of people who came to the rally, but it’s also arm bands. If you buy two thousand arm bands you can’t expect to have major bands playing in the park. If you sell twenty thousand arm bands then we can have major bands in the park, so it’s important.”
