TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -It was a contentious meeting of the Tupelo Airport Authority Board as several members asked a representative of Seaport Airlines about the poor track record of the airline.

Dalton Sullivan will soon be the new manager for community affairs in the Midsouth for Seaport Airlines. He was at the meeting to answer questions and concerns.

Board member Rocky Miskelly asked Sullivan if he planned to apologize for the high rate of cancellations and delays in recent months.

Sullivan said he understands their concerns and put most of the blame on a pilot shortage he says will soon be remedied.

“Now we do have a pilot class of 22 starting this coming Monday, and then five weeks later we will have another class of 22, and that will be for the pilots in the Midsouth as well as our west coast operations.”

“I know in the future working with Seaport, we hope to build dependability and reliability of that service and continue to ask the flying community in the area here to continue to use it as an option.”

This was Cliff Nash’s first board meeting as the new executive director of the Tupelo Regional Airport.
