Video: Tupelo Elvis Fan Club Keeps On Giving

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – It is a celebration sixty years in the making.  This evening,  members of the Tupelo Elvis Presley Fan Club celebrated its 60th birthday.

The Tupelo club was started by several Elvis fans back in 1956.  Ten years ago, the club found new life, to mark the anniversary of Elvis’ hometown concert.

Since then, the Tupelo Elvis Fan Club has given and pledged hundreds of thousands of dollars to various charities and groups helping children.

“You know, Elvis had a very giving spirit so part of our purpose is not only to be a social aspect and celebrate his music and his legacy but to continue that legacy in giving back to the community,” said Fan Club President Keith Henley.

In fact, club members brought items that will help a local church serve breakfast daily to needy people in the area.
