TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – 8 Days is heading into its final day as 3,000 volunteers wrapped up their work Saturday. And Friday Night Mayor Jason Shelton presented a key to the city to Tupelo 8 Days of Hope Founder Steve Tybor who has had the monumental task of coordinating the volunteers from all around the country who have been working on 165 tornado damaged homes. Tybor says the volunteers deserve all the credit.

“We did work in 165 homes so 165 families saw a glimpse of Jesus through 8 Days of Hope as we helped them rebuild their house. We worked on multiple churches, multiple parks. This community has been blessed by all these volunteers from around the country.”

Tybor encouraged the volunteers as they prepare to wrap things up tomorrow. He said some visitors have been so impressed with the city, that they want to move to Tupelo.
