Video: Tupelo Mayor Delivers Annual “State of the City” Address

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Monday evening  Mayor Jason Shelton gave Tupelo’s State of the City Address. Shelton touted the importance of the Major Thoroughfare Program, the massive cleanup effort after last April’s tornado, and the spirit of teamwork that he says is driving the city forward.

“When you look back through our history, our greatest success stories come when community leaders come together with one common set of goals and one common plan moving forward and that’s what I hope to achieve with the state of the city, rekindle that Tupelo spirit, that team approach and let’s sit down through town hall meetings this year and come up with one plan supporting the Tupelo plan moving forward for a better future for Tupelo.”

There was also a special tribute to the late Congressman Alan Nunnelee.
