TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The number of candidates running to fill the late Alan Nunnelee’s Congressional seat will soon be 13.

North Mississippi dentist, Dr. Ed Holliday is that latest to announce plans to run.

Holliday believes his medical experience will help fix or repeal the Affordable Care Act.

The Ripley native is also a published conservative author.

He has practiced dentistry in Tupelo for twenty three years.

Holliday believes there are better health alternatives to the President’s health care plan.

“We can repeal Obamacare and replace it with a good solid plan. And there’s something better than Obamacare. Look at free market economies. We have not used that in the medical system. We can look at free market economies. We can look health savings accounts. We can look at Tort reform. We can look at buying insurance across state lines. We can look at portability of insurance policies, when you change jobs. These are things we know how to do, we haven’t done it,” said Holliday.

Holliday will make his official announcement tomorrow at the Lee County Courthouse.

Businessman Sam Adcock also plans to announce his candidacy on Tuesday.
