VIDEO: United Way Starkville Hits The Pavement

STARKVILLE, Miss.(WCBI) – Area residents laced up their tennis shoes to hit the asphalt for a good cause.

Saturday morning, United Way Starkville hosted it’s first 5-k run to continue to build relationships in the community and help those in need.

Several different, local, groups and Mississippi State on-campus organizations participated in the run.

United Way Starkville former president Robyn Havard says she hopes the United Way is leaving a lasting impact on the area.

“We’re just so excited for those who’ve come out today and we really appreciate the support they are showing the United Way. We hope that they will see the profits from this throughout our community and in the faces of the children and the community we serve,”said Havard.

Havard goes on to say they hope to make the 5-k an annual event.
