Video: United Way’s Day Of Caring Focuses On Helping Harvey Victims

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI)- Mississippian’s are continuing to help out victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Tuesdays was the United Way’s Day of Caring. The event was held in West Point.

Volunteers spent Tuesday morning loading up a Royal Trucking big rig with non-perishable items, cleaning supplies and personal hygiene products.

Mississippi Blood Services also held a blood drive at the event.

United Way Executive Director, Stacy Hays, says recovery efforts in Houston will be long term and this is just a little extra that’ll help.

Several agencies and volunteers from area businesses participated in United Way’s Day of Caring.
