COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- You can run but you can’t hide from MUW employees.

This morning a Mississippi University for Women employee confronted 41-year-old Terrance West going through her purse inside her office in the Welty Administration Building. The two struggled briefly and she threw coffee on him as he fled with her money and her screaming in pursuit.

Her screams quickly attracted the attention of other ‘W’ employees and they joined the chase.

” My coworker and I were sitting in the van ready to go to work when we heard this female hollering that some one took her purse from her. I saw the guy pass us. That’s when I got out of the van and chased him. I made the block running so he could not come out. Then I went in between couple of houses and that’s where I found him, ” Napoleon Stevenson said.

Thanks to the collaboration of MUW Police, Columbus Police, and “W” employees, West was caught in the area off 4th Avenue South and 9th Street and the victim’s money was recovered.
