STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Some Golden Triangle residents had the chance to attend a volunteer conference.
Once a year the Volunteer Mississippi holds an outreach for organizations who want to learn more information about national service opportunities such as non-profit organization and faith-based ministries.
One of the program officers says meetings like these allow individuals to reach out and help those throughout the community.
“It’s the human resources that are usually lacking so AmeriCorps will engage individuals who are committed to service and they do the things that have been demonstrated as a need in each community,” says Judy Stein.
