SATURDAY: Mostly sunny and very warm conditions are on tap for the start of the weekend. Highs will be in the upper 80s to around 90°. Be sure to wear sunglasses, sunscreen, and/or a hat to the football games in Starkville and Oxford.

SUNDAY: Clouds will increase during the day as a cold front moves into the region. There is a 30% chance of afternoon showers and perhaps even a few thunderstorms. Temperatures prior to the front should push back into the low and mid 80s.

NEXT WEEK: Signs point to a mainly sunny but much cooler week overall. We’ll start out the week with highs in the low 70s and lows in the 40s but temperatures are going to moderate to near average by Friday. No rain is expected all week long save for an early shower Monday morning.
