WCBI chief photographer Tony Peoples passes away

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Tony Peoples died Wednesday morning.

He was our chief photographer here at WCBI. But for 37 years, he was so much more.

He was a newsroom leader, a teacher, a confidant, a therapist and the guide for young reporters for nearly four decades.

He shared the stories of the people of north Mississippi, along the way interviewing presidents and average folks.

No one saw a story better. No one made a story better.

Tony didn’t just belong to us. He was a devoted son, loving husband to Sandra, father to LeeAnn and William and grandfather.

Tony Peoples made a difference in the lives of so many people.

And we will miss him.

Join us tonight at 5 and 6 p.m. for a video tribute to our friend Tony Peoples.
