Weather doesn’t stop this Easter egg hunt

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The St. James UMC and Columbus First Methodist Church sponsored an Easter egg hunt.

The Easter bunny and Mother Goose made a surprise appearance to kick off the event.

There were activities, games, and food all free of charge.

Over 300 hamburger and hotdog plates were served to those that attended.

Due to weather, the Easter bunny passed out baskets to all the egg hunters.

“This affects the kids in the community because they get to come out they get to have fun and a lot of them don’t get to go to the Easter egg hunts around and about. We try to cater to our kids in our communities. We just enjoy doing it because we have such a big yard and the kids love to have fun,” said Event Coordinator Jackie Easley.

The church says they try to do this event every year.
