Unsettled Saturday, Drier Sunday

SATURDAY: An early batch of rain/storms should exit by 8 or 9 a.m. Additional rain/storms are likely during the late morning through the early evening hours. Any storm today may produce lightning and heavy downpours.  The strongest cells later today may contain isolated damaging wind gusts and hail.  The tornado potential today is extremely low in the region.  Highs should top out mainly in the 70s. We’re cautiously optimistic that we can squeeze in some dry hours for the Market Street Festival in downtown Columbus.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Lingering showers will gradually fade but clouds are expected to hang on all night long. Look for lows generally in the low 60s.

SUNDAY: Morning clouds should give way to partly cloudy skies. Plan on a nice afternoon with highs around 80. Northwesterly winds will usher in a drier air mass as the afternoon wears on. Lows by Monday morning will return to the 50s.

NEXT WEEK: Dry and warm conditions build back in on Monday. Rain and storms are expected to return to the region for the middle to end of the work week.
