West Point celebrates MLK Day with parade, speakers and performances

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – West Point celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a parade, speakers and performances.

The motorcade and parade started at 9 a.m.

The parade started at Navistar and ended at Mary Holmes gym where speakers and performances were held.

The theme for the celebration activities was “Where Do We Go From Here.”

Rev. Lesha M. Agnew, Chandler’s Chapel CME Church pastor in Verona, was the speaker for the event.

West Point’s Chosen Ones Mime Team and Doss Family Singers performed.

The mayor and selectman of West Point, Clay County board of supervisors, Delta Sigma Theta, Davidson Chapel, BankFirst Bank, Southern Ionics and Jamey Ballard helped to sponsor the event.
