WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – West Point residents share their thoughts on the city’s new proposed five council districts Tuesday (9/25) night.

The board of selectmen held a public hearing at City Hall. The city’s redistricting consultant outlined how the proposed districts have been altered to meet population shifts found in the 2010 Census. Once approved by the board, the plan must be submitted to the Justice Department. If approved by next March’s qualifying deadline, the new district lines will be used for next year’s city elections.
