West Point sergeant and K-9 receive new unit

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – K9 Officer Kenzo and his partner Sergeant Arnie Cade are riding in style.

This all started last October with a fundraiser by K9s United.

They were in need of a new unit to hit the streets of West Point. When the fundraiser ended, they were still just over $17,000 short.

But, another big donation from Setina Manufacturing and an anonymous donation from a local native, made the new ride and equipment all possible.

Both Sergeant Cade and Kenzo are excited and grateful for the SUV.

Kenzo will work as a narcotics K9 and his handler said he’s got a nose for sniffing out illegal drugs.

“A lot of time, we’re not able to find it because obviously we can’t smell and sometimes it’s concealed inside the vehicle itself and his nose is pretty sensitive,” explained Sergeant Cade.

The new digs cost $48,000.
