Wet & Stormy Wednesday, Unsettled Through Saturday

WEDNESDAY: Heavy rain and storms are once again in the forecast, especially during the first half of the day. An additional 1-2″ (or more) is possible. While there is still the chance of a few strong storms across our southeastern counties, the best tornado potential appears like it will be confined to areas mainly along and south of I-20/59. Look for highs climbing back into the 50s and 60s as a little surge of milder air comes in from the south. Breezy SE winds between 10 and 20 mph will veer to the SW and taper down a bit during the course of the day.

THURSDAY-FRIDAY: More rain showers and a few storms are likely with the chance at 60-70% each day. Temperatures may only top out in the 50s on Thursday with more in the way of 60s returning on Friday. Temperatures will be dependent on the location on where a frontal boundary sets up.

SATURDAY: An unseasonably warm and humid air mass is expected to develop around the region as yet another disturbance rolls on through. While some rain will be possible at any time the best chance of any severe weather should hold off until the afternoon and into the evening hours. The severe threat may turn out to be more significant across the region compared to what is possible on Wednesday. Daytime highs may surge well into the mid to upper 70s.

SUNDAY: Model data suggest that our region may dry out a little bit under partly cloudy skies. At this point we’re taking rain out of the forecast! Highs should remain in the 60s.

EARLY NEXT WEEK: A few more disturbances may spark more rain in the region. We’re adding a chance for some rain by Monday afternoon with a better opportunity going into Tuesday. Highs stay in the 50s and 60s.
