White House press briefing today — live updates

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders is taking questions from reporters Tuesday, as the questions special counsel Robert Mueller reportedly wants to ask President Trump have emerged, the deadline for deciding whether to stay in the Iran deal approaches, and as questions about Mr. Trump’s Cabinet continue to linger.

Who: White House press secretary Sarah Sanders

What: Daily White House press briefing

Where: White House briefing room

When: Scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EDT

Possible topics:

White House Correspondents Dinner: Comedian Michelle Wolf used some vulgarity and lobbed jokes many found offensive at Sarah Sanders. This is the first briefing since that happened.

Questions Mueller has for Trump: The New York Times has obtained a list of questions special counsel Robert Mueller wants to ask Mr. Trump. That’s all but sure to come up in the briefing.

Iran nuclear deal: May 12 is the deadline for Mr. Trump to certify Iran’s compliance with the Iran nuclear deal to Congress, something Mr. Trump has said he will not do again. But the president has yet to announce any final decision, although Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and French President Emmanuel Macron have said they belief he will pull out of the deal.

Questions about the president’s current and former doctors: Questions still remain about Ronny Jackson, the president’s physician who withdrew his nomination from Veterans Affairs secretary and stepped down from his White House physician post amid unsubstantiated allegations. Now, the president’s personal doctor, Harold Bornstein, told NBC News he felt “raped” when the president’s longtime body guard and two other men arrived and allegedly took the president’s medical files last year.
