Wife Calls Police When She Sees Husband Being Robbed in Front Yard

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-One suspect is in custody and one is still on the run this evening after an attempted armed robbery this past weekend.

37 year-old Jeffery Dymont Collie of Aliceville, Alabama is charged with Armed Robbery, Shooting into an occupied dwelling, and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On June 24th, Columbus Police responded to 19th Street North to a call of an armed robbery.

The homeowner had just gotten home from work when he was approached by two males displaying handguns in an attempt to rob him.

The homeowner’s wife saw what was happening and called 911 to report the robbery.

One of the suspects fired one shot into their home during the robbery.

Both suspects fled the area but that’s when officers found Collie.

This incident is still under investigation and investigators are looking for information to identify the second suspect.

Collie’s total bond is set at $350,000 by Municipal Court Judge Gary Goodwin.
