Winston County honors lives lost in storm five years ago

WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – In Winston County Wednesday, people worked in the park and remembered.

Teenagers tied ribbons around cypress trees. It’s been five years since this county lost 10 people in a devastating storm. These ribbons honored their lives.

Volunteers braced against the chill to weed and prune at Dean Park. Other gardeners were on planting and mulching detail.

Volunteers from the 4-H Club, the Modern Woodman Youth Service Club, the Black Girls Read club and The Master Gardeners earned community service hours for their efforts in the park.
