Video: Update: 1 Killed In Winston County Shooting

WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Winston County deputies continue to investigate a deadly shooting.

The shooting happened Thursday night on Stanley Road, near Noxapater, about 9 PM.

Sheriff Jason Pugh says a woman called 911 and wanted to talk to a deputy about a domestic violence issue.

While in route, Joe Devisfruto called the sheriff’s department to say 24 year-old Wesley McAdory was on his way the Stanley Road home.

Investigators say McAdory and Devisfruto fought in the front yard.

By the time deputies arrived McAdory had been shot to death.

“During that physical altercation a weapon came into play, a 9 mm glock pistol. We believe at this point that three rounds were fired, two of those rounds struck Mr. Wesley McAdory. They appear to be close contact gunshot wounds,” said Pugh.

Winston County Coroner Scott Gregory says McAdory’s body has been sent to Jackson for an autopsy.

Pugh is talking with the district attorney and anticipates the case will be presented to a grand jury.
